Perfect your Spanish

Spanish is one of the most popular languages in the world! Au pairing in Spain will allow you to practice your Spanish. I definitely improved my Spanish during my time abroad through speaking to my au pair family, kids and using it in everyday life while out and about.

Cheap Lifestyle

Spain is unbelievably cheap. You can get quality drinks for as little as one euro and depending on the region you’re in you receive a little appetizer called a tapa for free with your drink! You can also go out to eat and order a menu del dia (menu of the day), which is essentially a two course meal that includes bread, a drink and dessert for as cheap as 10 euros. Your pockets will definitely thank you in Spain!

Diverse Landscape

The landscape in Spain is extremely diverse, there’s something for everyone. Visit the beaches and sand dunes in the Canary Islands, the ski slopes in the Pyrenees, or the lush green enchanting forests in Galicia. There’s so much to see and explore!

Close to Other European Countries

Spain shares a border with Andorra, France and Portugal so you can easily travel to all three countries and see a little more of Europe. Don’t worry, there are also numerous low cost flights to the rest of Europe.

Affordable Travel All around the country

If you’ve got the travel bug then you’ll love au pairing in Spain because the world of transport is so cheap! You can travel all around Spain via blablacar, buses, trains and planes and it’s all INEXPENSIVE. I’ve taken a plane round trip from Madrid to Barcelona for 20 euros and a bus from northern Spain to southern Spain for 30 euros!

As you can see Spain is appealing in more ways than one so next time consider opening up your au pair search to Spain! Have you ever been an au pair in Spain? Let me know in the comments down below!
